Hotel Douro Palace
Diana and Marius fell in love with Douro. They had already been in Portugal, but Douro was special. And when they thought about eloping, they didn’t hesitate to choose Douro, and Douro Palace Hotel, where they had been before to celebrate their love.
The oak tree just near the river was in their mind, and not even the fact that they had a sinuous dirt road ahead made them give up. Heels off, heels on! And their dream wedding was simple, emotional and i just loved to be a part of it.
Simple people. Humble. With such good taste. They gave me the best i could ask in return: a true hug. This was my last wedding of 2016 and i am so glad that these two stumble upon me. An elopement is really my kind of wedding!
It was a short symbolic sand ceremony, with vows exchange and where the 5 friends present could be a part of it. It’s a great way to remember your wedding day. Diana chose the colors she wanted to use during the ceremony, each color with a different meaning and asked me to help her with all the readings. It was so great to see their emotion and their smile.
There are so many ways to tie the knot… I’ll come back to this one of this days. Different ceremonies that can be used not only as a marriage vow but for another kind of celebrations.
For know, let’s just remember Diana and Marius elopement. They came all the way from Lituania to get married under a really old oak tree just on the edge of Douro River. And what a beautiful day this was!
